Things To Do in Arizona

From Phoenix, get going pass the Beeline Highway on the way to Payson (from here the temperature feels cooler) up to the mountain pines. Payson is at the foot of the 200-mile Mogollon Rim.

As the Arizona weather temperature becomes significantly cooler, you will find various things to do in Arizona with recreational activities in the communities of Pinetop-Lakeside, Greer and Alpine such as trout fishing, boating, and hiking, being the most popular.

South of Alpine is a scenic drive of the Coronado Trail leading to Clinton, south of which leads back to Phoenix.

From Tucson, a cool getaway is close by at the 9,000-feet Santa Catalina Mountains in the north.

Cabins and cool pine forests provide breathtaking rests, with a free gaze down at the city of Tucson. South of Tucson is the Madera Canyon National Forest Recreation Area in the Santa Rita Mountains, and Mt. Graham at the northeast are other popular mountain getaways.

Believe me, there’s a lot (as in, a lot) more summer escapes in the northern cooler communities and forests of Arizona. From the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Flagstaff and more, get to see how the amazing Arizona weather will let you snow-ski and water-ski on the same day from great Arizona vacation sites!

What To Do In Arizona When Home

  • Play those old CDs that you haven't listened to for a while. You will discover it’s refreshing.
  • Read a book that has an icy theme all the way through, like Snow Falling on Cedars.
  • Complete a big 3D jigsaw puzzle while sipping homemade fruit smoothie or lemonade.
  • It’s a movie day! Have you ever seen 3 movies in one day? We did!
  • Rent a minimum of four videos with snow themes. Say, such as Fargo, Home Alone, and White Fang.
  • Go to a video arcade.
  • Go to the Heard Museum. There are great activities for kids there that you can enjoy all day long.
  • Go to the Arizona Science Museum. Great for kids too.
  • And there’s the Planetarium.
  • Play and learn at exhibits.
  • Get a dip in an indoor swimming pool.
  • Do your early Christmas shopping at the mall – for a friend, relative, or for charity.
  • Visit a large library. Read unusual articles in magazines and newspapers. Find the books that interest you, like sports cars or water polo.
  • Go to an Arizona Diamondbacks game at the Chase Field with a retractable roof that closes and cools the place before a game.
  • Then there’s the new world-class Cardinals Stadium for the Cardinals game. This is a must-see.
  • Go lucky at a casino and play the slots or bingo. Even if you lose, your credits will treat you to a free buffet or entertainment.

Such enjoyable things to do in Arizona - even when the heat is on!
