| Our author, Marsha, is a Filipina from Hongkong but her fiance, Ross, comes from Tucson, Arizona. This is their love story. |
Do you believe in so called "Whirlwind Romance" or "May-December Affair"? I do.
I met my fiance in a dating website and honestly, from the very start "I don't believe in such a crap". But LOVE do really conquers all! I am now happily engaged and soon to be married :)
Allow me to give you a glimpse of a few photos taken on a very important day of my life...
It's one of my boring day off and as usual, my favorite hang out is CPS Internet Cafe in Central. Dalawa lang kaming customer and this pinay was pissing me off. I'm quite edgy that time coz broken hearted ako. This pinay kept on insisting that I take a look at the photo of her fiance on the monitor. She told me why I don't try to visit and log in at FilipinaHeart.com.
And so I did out of curiousity at para malibang. Nadismaya lang ako coz puro "oldies" ang nakikita ko.
Pagbalik ko sa house, I download a photo on my profile and waited if anybody will send their interest on me. So far, hindi sa pagyayabang marami ang nagsend ng interest but ewan ko ba, hindi ko talaga type ang "foreigner". At malay ko ba kung serious nga sila sa intention nila.
I tried to have a chat with the members but I found it really boring. Until one man caught my interest. He's a Fil-Am and we're on the point of getting to know each other when I needed to go home for an emergency exit for 10 days to attend my mother's eye surgery.
When I went back to Hong Kong, I send an email to him and from that time on, before I start my work I checked my email first kung may sagot siya. Hindi ko maintindihan ang napi feel ko. I'm so excited, swooning like a teenager, inspired...ewan, halo halo eh! I tried to evaluate what I really feel kasi baka father image lang.
So kinulit ko siya to send me his photo para ika nga eh, makaliskisan. Sabi ko, ngek! Tatay ko na nga ito (joke lang :-)) until he told me, "by this time i'm deeply falling in love with you" and would you believe, "kami na pala". Sabi ko i want Pinoy Style na ligawan kaso dinaan ako sa American Style!
On my 43rd birthday (July 10, 2007), he sent me a dozen roses (fyi, we met month of April or May) and on 8th of August he flew from US to HK to meet me personally and at the same time to comply with the remaining requirements of K-1 Fiancee Visa. Inabot pa siya ng Typhoon No.8 dito sa Hong Kong and napatunayan ko sa sarili ko that I really love this "old man" despite our age gap.
So, I could say...I Finally Found Someone..."
Before I forget, he slipped the engagement ring pagkatapos ko siyang kaladkarin sa Spaghetti House (HK Airport arrival hall) kasi nagugutom na ako!
Hope you like my story. :-)
