PACKING UP FOR THE MOVE:

Here’s how your relocation to Arizona planning becomes extra easy.

Two Months Before.

Contact a moving company and tell them when you plan to relocate. Get an estimate of your moving expenses. Click this for a good estimate of your . Be sure you have decided on whether you’ll pack yourself or have the movers do it.

It will help if you start establishing credit in your new city. You can arrange for a transfer of funds or assets in the safety deposit box.

Cancel or transfer insurance coverages accordingly. Check personal insurance coverage if transfer fire, theft, and other property insurance is included when moving to Arizona.

Secure school records and transcripts from the local school district to arrange relocation to Arizona.

One Month Before.

List down the names of friends, relatives, companies, and others who need to be advised of your move. Give special attention to utility companies and cancel all utilities.

Analyze the floor plan of your new home and decide where you’ll want to place furniture. This will lessen the stress when you get there.

Complete any repair work of your old home.

Two Weeks Before.

Designate a large room to store the boxes. It will make you feel organized with less anxiety on the day of moving to Arizona.

Make a list of all boxes packed. You’ll need this checklist when unloading at your new home upon relocation to Arizona.

Plan your food purchases and start emptying the freezer or refrigerator. Use up all frozen items, and buy only what you'll eat in the next three weeks.

Mow your lawn one last time. Drain the gas and oil from your lawn mower, snowblower, and other gas-powered tools.

Clear the refrigerator and freezer of contents so you have time to dry them up before the movers haul them. Put charcoal or baking soda to keep them fresh.

If you have toddlers, arrange for a babysitter because your hands will be full on moving to Arizona day during loading and unloading.

Keep the telephone directory handy with you. You might need to stay in touch with former personal or business contacts after you move.

Do a general cleaning of the old home, or arrange someone to do it.

A Day Before.
