hi wenggay!

hi wenggay! Hope by this time this comment reaches you, you're already holding a job. Maria is so right, most Filipinos who came here from the Philippines has to adjust to their expectations where it concerns finding a job. We hold a good or decent white collar job in PI but coming here, it seems difficult to find another one of the same calibre more or less. The gist is, swallow your pride and go for the menial jobs at first, the blue-collar jobs (if you would like to call it that). It wouldn't be difficult to find the job that you think you're so capable of, because these HR managers would like to see your work history here in the States. Start low and climb up the ladder. Next, scrutinize your resume'. Don't forget that you are selling yourself to the prospective company. Don't go for the bullet-type resume', emphasize the good qualifications you have to match the qualifications that the ad is looking for. If you get an interview, dress well; remember that power dressing gets you where you want to. Before going for interview, research the company's stats and be sure you impress your interviewer by "knowing" the company. How about your English? Are you still having the thick Filipino-English accent? Work on it. Finally, pray pray pray. Pray for confidence, pray so that the interviewer is in his best mood, and pray that you get the job.
Good luck, Wenggay!
