One hundred miles north of the Phoenix metropolitan area, Cottonwood-Arizona is adjacent to the Verde River, that runs through the valley from northwest to southeast.

Cottonwood experiences a mild climate, coupled with the proximity to such awesome destinations as Grand Canyon, Sedona, Dead Horse Ranch State Park, Tuzigoot National Monument, and historic Clarkdale and Jerome towns, continues to provide ample tourism.

The City also pioneered a wastewater treatment plant and collection system in the Verde Valley, a major factor attracting modern progress. It treats approximately 1.5 million gallons of water everyday.

Since 2001, Cottonwood pursued the acquisition of the private water companies serving the area and with success, the City of Cottonwood has become a full service municipality.

At present, Cottonwood has experienced a major expansion of the Verde Valley Medical Center, and the development of commercial, residential and office projects.
