Chino Valley-Arizona

Chino Valley-Arizona is the first Territorial Capital of Arizona. Its Mexican name was derived from the abundance of curly "grama grass" in the area. The town of Chino Valley-Arizona is in north-central Arizona, 15 miles N of Prescott, elevated 4,750 feet.

Vegetation flourishes in Chino Valley’s mild climate consisting of corn, squash and beans. Tulips and daffodils mark the onset of spring. The leaves of autumn add beautiful color to the coming winter. Spring is heralded by grand tulips and daffodils.

Still blessed by clean air, good soil, residents don’t need to treat its local pure water for drinking. Local wells provide most of the drinking water with depths ranging from 200 to 500 feet. The Chino Valley Irrigation District, a 2500 acre service area, provides water for its agricultural economy.

Chino Valley, located along State Highway 89 in the mountains of north central Arizona, has a growing economy, great education system, and excellent health care.

Chino Valley is a vibrant town with rich tradition. It has a gentle four seasons, enjoying 300 plus days of sunshine every year, and has an average rainfall of 10.6 inches.

Summer's vegetation harvest is celebrated at the annual corn dinner and dance every Labor Day.

Currently, Chino Valley’s population is approximately 9600 town residents. The community has low drug and crime rates.

The economy of Chino Valley is based on retail, commercial and government activities. Major employers include American Sandstone, the Chino Valley School District, Safeway, Town of Chino Valley, Performance Accessories, NAB Nursery, Willow Creek Greenhouse, US Forest Service, Hunts true Value Lumber and Dewitt Brothers Trucking & Construction.
