Bouse-Arizona
Bouse-Arizona, located 130 miles NW of Phoenix, is 10 sq. miles of area in La Paz County.  Bouse is becoming popular as a retirement and visitor center with its mild winters, therefore can be classified as a retirement/vacation area. A former mining town, the community was named after Thomas Bouse, a known merchant. Popular for its production of jojoba beans, Bouse’s scenic attractions are the:
- Swansea - a former copper mining community where remnants exist
- Camp Bouse - a former World War II secret Army base
- Bouse Assay Office - information and tourist center
Annual events include Christmas bazaars, Spring Fever days, and Camp Bouse Memorial Dedication day. Athletic and equestrian facilites, and a new 80-acre community park provide camping and a gun range. Industries providing employment: Educational, health and social services (29.2%), Retail trade (14.9%), professional, scientific,management, administrative,and waste management services (14.9%), and public administration (10.7%).
