Best Sunscreen Review

Below is an unbiased and probably the best sunscreen review you may ever read. I have the habit of researching for the best skin products, and feel happy sharing it with my valued visitors here who take time to visit my site.

First off, I found the best skin lightening and whitening product that needs the best sunblock with a good SPF and UVA protection. I actually have a sunscreen in my product line but I won't offer here because I found something better.

And I don't get a cent from endorsing this product. It's just a wonderful sunscreen / sunblock. Let me tell you why.

sun imageMy favorite is Neutrogena Ultra-sheer dry touch sunblock SPF 55 with Parsol 1789, also known as Avobenzone. Make sure you get the 3%, not just 2%. You can find this in Aveeno and Oil of Olay sunscreen creams.

Another sunscreen phenomenon is the Neutrogena SPF 45 Cooling Mist, which doesn't give a feeling of sticky or oily. It has Parsol 1789 and sheer UVA protection.

Sheer UVA protection is different from Physical UVA protection like titanium dioxide which gives an unattractive opaque pasty look on the skin, but Titanium Dioxide is best recommended for sensitive skin and for babies.

Other sunscreen products in the market contain sheer Zinc Oxide, which functions the same as Titanium Dioxide. Another ingredient to look for is Mexoryl-Sx, another sheer chemical sunscreen ingredient like Parsol 1789, the most recent FDA-approved sunscreen active ingredient, which have been available in Europe for years. La Roche-Posay is the only brand in the US that I've seen so far. It's about 3X more expensive than the brands mentioned above, but is supposedly more effective according to dermatologists.

Among other best sunscreen products that I find very good, there's another great product I just discovered from a CVS drugstore , called Lumene SPF 45, that has Avobenzone/Parsol 1789, but in stronger concentration than Neutrogena's SPF 30 sunblock (3% vs 2%). It is citrus scented and has moisturizers.

Regular retail price is around $18.99 for a 6-ounce bottle. Neutrogena's 3-ounce tube costs about $8.99. CVS usually offers substantial discount, freebies or beauty coupons regularly. So watch out for it to get additional savings.

CVS also have a face sun cream (1.7-ounce at $13.00) as another choice for sunscreen. I have used the regular Lumene SPF 45 sunscreen on my face without any allergic reaction to it.

As I mentioned previously, sunblock is NOT AN OPTION. It is a must. And not just any sunblock will do or work.

There was a recent class-action lawsuit here in the U.S. against all major sunscreen brands alleging that they misled the public by claiming "UVA protection" on their package when they don't really and effectively protect against UVA. In fact, most sunscreens don't protect from UVA rays at all.

The UVA rays are responsible for skin cancer, aging and wrinkling our skin, producing melanin thus creating a skin tan. The UVB burns out skin.

Always wear the best sunscreen or sunblock with UVA protection when outdoors under the sun, particularly during the hours of 10am-3pm. Don't waste your money on useless sun creams.

Regine Velasquez - famous Philippine celebrityRemember, not all sunscreens / sunblocks protect from UVA rays. Even if you have the best sunscreen on, I suggest protecting your skin physically from the sun through hats/sunglasses and long sleeved shirts for extended sun exposure.

Ok, now you can take your pick from our best sunscreen review that will work for your skin, and enjoy soft, beautiful, undamaged complexion.
